Inside the frame of Umbrialibri, editorial and cultural event promoted by Umbria region, Viaindustriae and Fonoteca Regionale Oreste Trotta presented UltraUltra-red, 10 hypotheses on 10 preliminary theses on militant sound investigation, and organized a radio-happening with a live sound performance by the Italian duo Fauve! Gegen A Rhino, who remixed the tracks published in the booklet-cd.  The 6-month process led to the creation of a database of sound-fields and texts-recorded tracks developed to build 10 sound pieces/ hypotheses by 10 young artists. The publication is a bilingual (ITA/ENG) adaptation of the important manifesto/source text 10 preliminary theses on militant sound investigation by the American collective Ultra-red, which is here further amplified by the translations / interpretations of 10 transistors, 10 conducting bodies, 10 mediators with various sound competences who supported the investigation with the idea of drawing a 10 point theoretical-political manifesto. The process was triggered by the instigation of Ultra-red who declared on the back cover of their book published in 2008 by Printed Matter: “Ultra-red offers these 10 theses for Militant Sound Investigation for testing in the crucible of practice and reflection; the pillars of our constitutive utopias.” The authors/members of UltraUltraRed, occupying simultaneous positions as sound artists, researchers, organizers, and citizens, submit the 10 hypotheses toward what they have studied and elaborated. In the booklet, the English source-text is translated in Italian language by 10 researchers, in the CD there are 10 sound hypotheses conceived by 10 sound artists based on 10 preliminary theses on militant sound investigation. In order to practice a new approach to the social soundscape, UltraUltraRed hope to put into circulation a lexicon of analytical concepts that seek to rethink a new pedagogy of the ear and invoke the procedures of thematic sound investigation developed by Ultra-red for testing in the crucible of practice and reflection, for exploring acoustic space as enunciative of social relations.

All’interno della di Umbrialibri, evento editoriale e culturale promosso dalla Regione Umbria, Viaindustriae e Fonoteca Regionale Oreste Trotta hanno presentato UltraUltra-red, 10 ipotesi sulle 10 tesi preliminari sull’indagine sonora militante, e ha organizzato un happening radiofonico con una performance sonora dal vivo del duo italiano Fauve! Gegen A Rhino, che ha remixato i brani pubblicati nel booklet-cd. Il processo di 6 mesi ha portato alla creazione di un database di sound-fields e tracce sviluppate per costruire 10 pezzi / ipotesi sonore di 10 giovani artisti. La pubblicazione è un adattamento bilingue (ITA / ENG) dell’importante testo manifesto 10 preliminary theses on militant sound investigation condotta dal collettivo americano Ultra-red, che viene qui amplificato dalle traduzioni / interpretazioni di 10 traduttori, 10 corpi conduttori, 10 mediatori con varie competenze sonore che hanno supportato l’indagine con l’idea di disegnare un manifesto teorico-politico di 10 punti. Il processo è scaturito dallo spunto offerto dai membri di Ultra-red che hanno dichiarato, sul retro del loro libro pubblicato nel 2008 da Printed Matter: “Ultra-red offre queste 10 tesi da sperimentare nel crogiolo della pratica e della riflessione; i pilastri delle nostre utopie costitutive.” Gli autori / membri di UltraUltraRed, occupando posizioni simultanee come artisti del suono, ricercatori, organizzatori e cittadini, sottopongono le 10 ipotesi a ciò che hanno studiato ed elaborato. Nel booklet, il testo sorgente inglese è tradotto in italiano da 10 ricercatori, nel CD ci sono 10 ipotesi sonore concepite da 10 artisti del suono. Al fine di praticare un nuovo approccio al paesaggio sonoro sociale, UltraUltraRed spera di mettere in circolazione un lessico di concetti analitici che cercano di ripensare una nuova pedagogia dell’ascolto e di invocare le procedure di indagine sonora tematica sviluppata da Ultra-red, per esplorare lo spazio acustico come enunciazione delle relazioni sociali.
