The project, curated by Giorgio Maffei, Emanuele De Donno and Franco Troiani, emphasizes the strength of the two artists’ “open” work, Maël Veisse and Sebastien Renaud (F), both in relation to architecture and to the heritage of masters of contemporary art. Maël Veisse and Sébastien Renauld explore the systems of forms, open their possibilities, multitudes inscribed in the heart of the finished devices. The combinatorics is revealed through installations or inhabitable modules, and in this case overflows into the space marked by the step and a grid of cube-shapes. The two young artists / architects adopt a systematic method that recalls the primary and serial minimalist poetics with a direct reference to the American master Sol LeWitt (Open Cubes / Open Cubes).

The environmental intervention consists of 4096 variants of open cubes, determined by 217 matrices: the whole study is condensed into 13 single-copy artist’s books that extend and update the 1974 artist book by Sol LeWitt Incomplete open cubes. From this powerful work halfway between analytical rigor and a metaphysical rhythm, the project of creating an installation / book / environment cataloged in 13 volumes is born, and exploded in 217 forms in cement and in a wall-drawing.
A second version of the project was proposed in Rome, at the Faculty of Architecture at Università RomaTre, Ex Mattatoio. In this case, the sculptures have been made with wood.

Il progetto di VIAINDUSTRIAE e STUDIO A’87, curato da Giorgio Maffei, Emanuele De Donno e Franco Troiani, pone l’accento sulla forza dell’opera “aperta” dei due artisti, Mael Veisse e Sebastien Renaud (FRA) sia al confronto con l’architettura sia all’eredità di maestri dell’arte contemporanea. Maël Veisse e Sébastien Renauld (F) esplorano i sistemi di forme, aprono le loro possibilità, moltitudini inscritte nel cuore dei dispositivi finiti. La combinatoria si rivela attraverso installazioni o moduli abitabili, e in questo caso deborda nello spazio segnato dal passo e dal reticolo di forme-cubo. I due giovani artisti/architetti adottano un metodo sistematico che ricorda la poetica primaria e seriale minimalista con un rimando diretto al maestro americano Sol LeWitt (Open Cubes / Cubi Aperti).

L’intervento ambientale consta di 4096 varianti di cubi aperti, determinate da 217 matrici: tutto lo studio viene condensato in 13 libri d’artista in copia unica che ampliano e riattualizzano il libro d’artista del 1974 di Sol LeWitt Incomplete open cubes. Da questo poderoso lavoro a metà tra il rigore analitico e una ritmica metafisica, nasce il progetto di realizzare un’ installazione/libro/ambiente catalogata in 13 tomi, ed esplosa in  217 forme in cemento e in un wall- drawing.
Una seconda versione del progetto è stata proposta a Roma, presso la Facoltà di architettura di Roma Università RomaTre, Ex Mattatoio. In questo caso, le 217 forme sono state fatte in legno.
